WUCWO

WUCWO stands for the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations (often abbreviated as WUCWO or UMOFC in Spanish/French). Since its foundation in 1910, WUCWO has been a space for communion, encounter and mission among Catholic women around the world. It is a global, Rome-based network of nearly 100 Catholic women's organizations across 50 countries, representing over eight million members. It is dedicated to promoting the dignity, rights, and active participation of women in the Church and society. For more than a hundred years, it has accompanied the challenges of each era with fidelity to the Gospel and the Magisterium of the Church. The World Union of Catholic Women’s Organisations (WUCWO) brings together organisations, not individuals on a personal basis.

· Mission: Empowering women to combat poverty, increase educational opportunities, and advance human rights, particularly the right to life.

· WUCWO Day (May 13): A global day of prayer and action held on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima.
